Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her professionally-known name Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. On the 21st October of 2016 she dropped Pho the debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012, as she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web, including her own released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released at Sweat It out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's music references. Later in the period, she released music that circulated throughout Dreamville. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. She appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP on October 21 on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in the year 2017 and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang with Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream From the album hit stores on October 5, 2018, with an accompanying music video. In November, the singer released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Then she appeared to the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on February 26 2019 for her debut album the same name. The music video premiered on the 20th February of 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. She was the opening act for 6LACK as part of their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
